Cleansing Balms???

I seem to be getting more and more balm cleansers in my collection. Until recently I felt a little scared off them to be very honest, I have combination skin, that is prone to break outs.

Today I want to share four of my most reached for they are all a little different in one way or another, but all loved in there on way, here goes.

Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm 100g £34.00
Well this certainly does not need any introduction, a holy grail product in the blogger world. This is my 4-5 tube and in fact is near the end. The only gripe I have with this product is the packaging. The can see from the picture how the lid cracks. The previous tubs all ended the same way! Be very careful if this happens to your tub as the previous tub actually cut my hand. It is a shame as you don't expect a high end product to have awful packaging, hopefully the lovely people at Emma Hardie will make a few amendments to the tub and well will all be happy.

The balm texture is quite soft, firm and oily once it meets your skin temperature. The scent is one of not my favourite of all the balms. I use this a little differently to the guidance instructions!! You know me by now, I like to do things my way, I always rub into dry skin and then I leave to work its magic. I would describe this application as to be like a mask, then I take a muslin cloth, submerse in warm water, I squeeze out the excess water and lay over my face for a few seconds, then I rub in gentle circular movements paying particular attention to my t zone area.

Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm 105g £39.50
My friend Sandra sent me this sample to try, and I am very grateful she did. I will certainly be making a purchase once I am through with my others. I tend to enjoy using this offering in the evenings. The scent includes Lavender, one this is one of my fave scents and secondly it really helps me to unwind after a long day teaching.

The texture is very soft, extremely smooth and turns to oil quickly. As I previously mentioned the scent is so nice, relaxing and full of essential oils. I use a small amount, apply to my face and give myself a little facial massage. I like to take the product down my neck onto my chest area. I use a Muslim cloth to remove, the same technique as before.

Botanics 97% Organic Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm 70ml £8.99
I found this by complete chance, I have no idea how this even come into my possession?? I noticed it sitting in my draw on day and being the brand snob I am I totally dismissed it. A few days later after hearing Rosehip can be beneficial to breakouts and acne scarring, I had another look through my collection and noticed this had that magical ingredient. I gave it a go, I was really impressed, I actually reach for this most mornings now.

The formula is very thick, has small bits of balm that need warming and massaging into the skin. again I like to use on dry skin, a little goes a long way. The scent is not as nice as the previous too, but still nice. Its just not a strong with all the essential oils. I notice a difference in my skin after use, my sore, break out areas are significantly less red and angry. Again as before I use my muslin cloth to remove.

RMK Cleansing Balm 100g £29.00
The pot shown in the picture is a trial size I received in a beauty box. I squealed when I opened by box and noticed this included!! Imagine my excitement when I realised it was heavily scented with Roses!! Wow this smells super nice, I could sit here and sniff this all day. I would like to invest in a full size pot as soon point as well.

The formula is very different to the rest, this is a hard balm when you scoop it out the pot but is easily warmed and melts onto the skin. It doesn't leave a heavy cover to the skin like the other so, its the lightest of my balms. I take a a scoop similar to the picture and work in onto my skin, paying attention to my t zone. I leave it on for a few minutes and remove with a muslin cloth, same as before.

I hope you enjoyed the run down of my cleansing balms, I know cleansing balms are very popular at the moment and thought this may help you with your decision if you are unsure about which one to purchase.

As I have mentioned before I am working on my current skin care routine, I will write one for my morning and evening routine. I have been trying to perfect them, so as soon as I feel they are perfect they will be ready for you all to read.

If you are using another balm and loving it please leave me a comment below, if you have blogged about it please leave me your link. I love to try new products, as you have probably guessed!
