Ysl Rouge Volupte #1

This what I would describe as the perfect nude, a pinkie nude. Its one of those colours you don't need to worry about. It will look amazing with any look.

YSL Rouge Volupte #1 has a texture that is creamy and soft on the lips, its wearing time is around the 2 hour mark. Not long I hear you say, but I can forgive it for the amazing look it provides. YSL have recently brought out other finishes in this range we have the shine, sheer and pearl ranges. I have a few from them, to tell them apart just look either at the top (Volupte has a small mirror on the top on the case) Shine is still gold but has no mirror, sheer is in a silver case and pearl?? Well I am not sure to be honest?? I am not attracted to pearly finishes.

It looks a lot lighter in real life, I had not realised how dark it was when taking the pictures for this post. Sorry. It's truly a lovely nude. I find some nudes can be hard to work with, they pull either brown or yellow toned. This is the right shade for a nude to suit my skin tone.

Just look at that colour, its heavenly. A lovely creamy, nudey, pinkie offering. Its one of those lipsticks I will always have in my collection. I tend to wear this with a sweeping of Mac sable on my eyes and a little Nars doucear to my cheeks. Oh what a lovely thought.

I wonder how many of you have this little beauty? I bet its a few?? I have read so many posts with this included before but hey ho I wanted to share my love as well.

Clarins make up

Clarins is a brand I have loved and used for years. My sister worked for therm for nearly 10 years, so I feel like I know the brand well. I love how they bring out limited edition items and this new one certainly took my eye. I have to admiut how excited I feel when I hear Clarins is bring out another limited edition range.

So here we have the Clarins summer 2013 limited edition Splendours, I had to go and take a look. I instantly fell in love with the offerings. This range has been inspired by South America, think Mayan culture and beautiful Aztec prints. This has to be one, if not the most eye catching designs by a make up brand to date. Its just amazing.

Splendours Summer Bronzing*
What a gorgeous product! I could sit and look at this intricate design forever. It is just so pretty, you can see the pattern through the packaging its a lovely Aztec design. The compact is an excellent size with a mirror inside, I love it when brands include mirrors it makes them so handy to use whilst out and about to top up your make up.

Here we have another shot of the product, it has 4 different shades to the bronzer, and a beautiful highlight in the centre. I have used this on a number of occasions now, I tend to swirl my brush around the outer sides for that perfect sculpted look. I take my real technique contour brush for the centre part and dust a little for my highlight. The consistency is creamy and easy to apply and minimal fall out. I found this to be very long wearing especially on my combination skin type. I have even used parts of this bronzer as a eye shadow, the colours are beautiful.

Splendours Colour Quarlet & Eye Liner Palette*
This was the initial product that really caught my attention, I always fall for a nice neutral eyeshadow set. After swatching this offering I knew I wanted to own it. The colours in this quad have been picked to perfection, all the colours complement each other, you can achieve so many looks. I think its absolutely genius to add an eyeliner to a quad. I am all for minimising the need for additional make up items.

The quad has the same beautiful pattern embossed into the product, these eye shadows are so easy to work with, super creamy and very pigmented. The colours are a shimmery golden bronze, a shimmery light beige, a medium chocolate brown, a shimmery champagne and a black eyeliner with under tones of aubergine. What a beautiful collection of colours that work so well with each other. This palette can be used wet or dry depending on the look you want to achieve.

Splendours Clarins Instant Smooth Crystal Lip Gel  #01 Crystal Pink*
I must say I found this product to be very unusual, I am not normally attracted to lip glosses or similar products. But on application this lip product soon changed my mind! Once I applied to my lips it looks amazing, a light wash of colour. It looks watery but with colour, its hard to describe.
Also the scent was so sweet I wanted to lick my lips, honestly smelt like I had sweets on my lips. I really wanted to try the lipsticks, they look like coloured glass.

Here we have a few swatches on my hand, along the bottom is the eyeliner, this is a fine swatch that can be built upon to achieve a darker look. Above the eyeliner is the eye shadows, I must add I have since tried to use these wet and the colour pay off is phenomenal. I am loving using the peachy pink and the brown together they are super pretty.

I swirled the bronzer colours together to get the darker colour and the centre highlight for the lighter colour. They look so pretty on the face, it works so well with my pale completion. I find some bronzers pull red, but not this one. It blends so well, I use the 3 motion, I contour under my cheek bones, run a little on my templs and dust whats left over on my brush under my chin. The highlight colour is a gorgeous shimmery champagne colour, it offers the gentle shimmer that makes all teh difference when finshing off my make up.

Below we have a swatch of the lip gel, its very similar to a tinted lip balm, there is no stickiness at all. I can imagine this product to work especially well whilst on a holiday, you know sitting around the pool. Just quick swipe of this would moisten the lips and provide that extra something.

I have been totally blown away with this collection, Clarins has come up thrumps again in my opinion. They have developed a brilliant collection of products that work so well with each other. You can acheieve a day or night look, this is excatly what I am looking for items that can be multi use. I like products that can be adapted to meet the needs of my wants!! You will get excalty that, day or night, natural or dramtic make up.

Serenity Soap

Recently I began twitter chatting  to a lovely lady called Dana. Dana is now one of my green friends, she has a wonderful blog. It took me a while to go back and read her posts from the start!

Dana makes her own natural soaps using all the finest ingredients. Dana is currently trialing different soaps, ingredients and recipes to decide the perfect ones to have on her website.

Dana offered to send me a sample of her Serenity Soap,a few days later it had arrived. I could literally smell it through the packaging! I opened the parcel to find a beautifully wrapped soap in yellow tissue paper.

I noticed how smooth the soap felt, it also felt very moisturising like the solid moisturisers I've seen in other shops. I did rub a little on my arm and it felt fine. I wonder whether I could use this as a multi use item? I may try to use this as a solid moisturiser the next time I have some.

Serenity Soap's ingredients include:-
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Chamomile Infusion
Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
Shea Butter
Castor Oil
Ylang Ylang

I really enjoyed using this soap, it left my skin so soft. It made a gentle lather and what I loved about it was it did not go soft and mushy. This soap did not loss its shape, even on my last use it just melted onto my skin. I can tell you I felt sad when I watched it disappear. When I dried myself after my bath I could still feel the oils from the soap on my skin, my skin felt totally nourished and soothed.

Dana is working on new lines as we speak, I am really excited to hear more about them. I hear some of the new products will include:-
Apricot Kernel Oil
Camellia
Sunflower Oil
Calendula Petals
Clay Swirls

I am hoping Dana will try her hand at some Balms and Lip Balms in the future, there would be plenty of orders from me for sure.

Please check Dana out on twitter at @livegreenbeaut

Dana is hoping to have the products ready to order around late summer time I will post something nearer the time to let you all know and hopefully show you some of the range that will be on available to order.

Burt's Bee's Baby Bee

I recently made an order with Lucy Rose and Burt's Bees Baby Balm was one of my purchases. I am really enjoying the use of balms recently, I like using multi purpose products, this can be used anywhere on your body.

I am impressed with the size of baby bee balm its 200gm. I know this is branded for the use of babies but this does not put me off. In fact is reassures me to how gentle and soothing it will be. I am sure this tub will last a while and for only £8.99 I am seriously going to stock up.

The Balm is a creamy product that smells of  new babies, you know that lovely clean smell? It also has sweetness to the scent its just lovely and nice to use.

The texture is quite unusual, its like lots of small grains in a soft balm. As soon as you apply to your skin and  start to rub they melt into your skin, then you can smell the soft aromas of the balm. I have used this on different parts of my body and had really good results. It takes a little time to sink in, but as I have said before I don't mind especially at night time, it gets me all ready and relaxed for a good nights sleep.

The picture below shows what the balm looks like once you rub it into the skin. It is such a nice product to use. It turns into an oil, its doing wonders for my dry skin especially on my arms.

The ingredients include, Castor oil, coconut oil, beeswax, Shea butter soybean oil, jojoba butter and sweet almond oil. With all that mixed together it smells so calming and relaxing.

I like Burt's Bees as a range, I have tried a few items from them now and to date have never been disappointed. I tried there hand balm some time ago it was in a sample pot, I really want to get another one of those. I was sent a cleanser to try, this is very exciting as soon as I do I will be sure to report back to you.

If you like using Balms I would highly recommend you try this one. Its brilliant value for money and I am sure will last me for some time. I would love you to take a look at Lucy Rose's website, there are lots of offers and the service is outstanding. Each time I have ordered my items arrive within a couple of days. I love how you can choose a selection of samples to try. In fact I have made another order last night to restock and get another fab free gift!!! Spend £20 on Burt's Bess and get a free gift set full of miniatures. I love a good freebie and this one is fab.

April Loves

Here we are its that time again, April for me has flown by.  I cannot believe we are nearly entering the months. I cannot wait for some sunshine.

Elie Saab 50ml £56.00
This is my go to perfume at the moment, I also own the purse size. Now how do I describe how amazing this smells??? Its musky, sensual and feminine if that makes sense? I really like this, I am so glad a brought this. It was not a planned purchase but more of a grab and buy. I did not even smell it in the shop. It was a pleasant surprise when I got home.

Orgins Clean Energy Cleansing Oil 200ml £19.00 (Pump £1.00)
This is a recent purchase, my Orgins consultant introduced me to this product, along with plenty of others! At my recent facial appointment. I was cleansing with my Emma Hardy in the bath each morning but in the evening I was only using my Taag micellaire water. I was advised to up my cleanse and in turn this would remove all traces of make up, even the deep layers. I absolutely love using this product, I also advise you to buy the pump. You do not waste the oil that way, I use 2 pumps and rub into my skin, this smells of lavender (one of my favourites) I have been using this for over a month now and you can see how little has gone. I brilliant product you must try.

Weleda Skin Food 75ml £8.95
One whisper that Victoria Beckham uses this beauty and all the women in the world fly into a frenzy. Me included!! I few clicks later and it was mine, I was on the look out for a nice hand cream and this fits the bill nicely. I have also tried this on my sons dry patches and it soothes him in seconds. This is a thick cream and takes some rubbing in but I like that.

By Terry Hyaluronic Powder 10gm £41.00
I have reached for this every morning without fail in the month of April, it gives my skin that extra something. I have horrendous skin at the moment, I keep harping on about. I tend to use my Double Wear or Creme Silk foundations both of which are full coverage and longer wearing. Just a Little dusting of this over the top makes all the difference. It provides a blurring effect and takes away the shine.

Caudalie Divine Oil* 100ml £25.00 (travel sized shown)
Out of all my oils I would say this is the thickest in texture and most nourishing. I use this on my hair, usually at night time. It smells lovely, nothing like their elixir! I like to slather this onto my hair, I then twist it up and put into a top knot when no one is looking!

Mac Patissarie 4gm £14.00
My all time favourite Mac lipstick. I became aware of this colour whilst watching a you tube video by the lovely Tanya Burr. I had already fallen for the usual blogger holy grails colours and been disappointed. So when I noticed Tanya using this colour I had to investigate more. The colour Jen (me) always goes for!!!

Isn't it the perfect colour, a your lips but better, I work this most days for work. Its not too much but enough to add a little shine to my lips. I am not keen of the toffee smell Mac put into their lipsticks.

Clinique All About Eyes Serum 15ml £21.00
Another find from watching a you tube video, oh my can you see a pattern occurring here!! This time it was the lovely LisalisaD1. I really liked the idea of running a cold, metal ball around my eyes in the morning to wake me up! Every little helps, well it does me anyway. I brought this when Debenhams had their 10% off recently. I did intend to only use this in the mornings, but I have been using this at night as well so I have used quite a bit already. Its a refreshing product which dries pretty quickly.

Nars Mykonos £18.00
An absolute beauty, my first Nars cream eyeshadow and I am totally impressed. It is a long wearing eyeshadow with a luxury formula, and I mean it lasts all day. It does not crease on me and looks the same when I arrive home as it did when I applied in the morning time.

I can achieve 2 looks with this 1 eyeshadow it can layed  up for a dark look or blended  out like I have in the picture to get a natural covering. Isn't it sooo pretty, I have nothing like it in my collection.

Bloom Remedies Orange, Cardamom and Geranium Body Butter* 50ml £7.99
I literally can not put this down, I am stocking up as we speak. I enjoy nothing more than rubbing a swoop of this into my cuticles. As soon as I put this product into my hands it melts and smells so nice. I keep sniffing my fingers after use! I get funny looks from my husband! I also love the packaging, it is in a metal tin with a screw on lid. So no worries for this to dry out. I will also up cycle this pot.

Lulu & Boo Hair Mask 30ml £12.95
I reviewed this product a few days ago. I have no idea how to link that post to this one!!! Please help?? Anyway what a fabulous mask, my hair loves this, I have used this several times over the month. As I sit Here  now its in my hair! I will leave it on until I wash my hair tomorrow morning. I have twisted my hair up in a top knot.

April Loves
Here's another look at all my April Loves, a nice mix of everything really. If you have written a monthly loves, please send me your links. I would love to read what you are currently loving.

Hope you enjoyed this months loves, and if any of you can help with the linking thingy?? Then please leave me a comment I would love to learn how to do this.

Davines Authentic Moisturising Balm

Whilst looking through my beauty draws , I came across this product. I received this a long time ago in a beauty box. At the time I had no idea how or what to use it for. So in the draw it went and forgotten about.

Since that time I have fallen head over heels in love with Balms, any balms in fact. I love them all, I felt excited when read the information for this product, its a balm!!! Another reason to love this product is its Organic and contains 98% natural ingredients. Yippee.

Davines is a multi use balm, it can be used on hair as a conditioner, on your face as a cleanser or to wash with as a balm wash. Its is very moisturising where ever you care to use it. you can even use this to remove your make up. The balm is made with lovely ingredients like :-  Safflower Oil, Sesame Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil, Sunflower Oil and Shea Butter. I can tell you it smells nice, a little herbal, a fresh smelling product. With no SLS, SLES, Sulphates, Parabens, Silicons< PEG and Ethoxylatres. No nasties to be found here.

As you can see the product is white and creamy, its not oily like some balms can be. I like to use it as a cleanser/face mask  it smooths over my skin lovely. I massage into my skin and leave on for a few minutes, I leave it to absorb into my skin like a face mask. The product sinks into my skin, as my skin is dehydrated it really penetrates. I can tell a difference after use.

I am glad I looked through my stock, I now do not want this to end, so I am using this sparingly. Its a nice addition to my skin care collection.
