Clarins event

I was invited to attend my first event at Clarins. I was so thrilled and was literally counting down the days until it was time to go.

I was welcomed to the counter and poured a glass of champagne, this is the life. I was introduced to Charlotte, a make up artist and skin care specialist. Charlotte was so kind and professional, she really knew her stuff and the brand inside out. I felt as ease straight away.

Charlotte took off my make up, paying particular attention to my skin. Charlotte assessed my skins needs and noted I was extremely stressed! Oh yes I am, working full time, running a house with 2 children and completing a degree! Not sure how much more I can handle.

Before I had my make over, Charlotte gave me a facial. Talking through each product and why she had selected to use it. This part was very interesting, there were so many new products used today I had not realised they sold! Charlotte gave me a thorough cleanse, tone, exfoliate and eye treatment. I could honestly feel a difference in my skin and the look of it, even after one use. I want to try more.

Now onto the make up, I prefer a semi Matt/ Matt base. I don't rock the dewy look well! Charlotte had the perfect foundation Everlasting #105 was a match made in heaven. Then she applied a little contour with their light #01 Bronzer. Next up was a total change for me! A pink blusher in Miami Pink and I really liked it. She applied some Instant Light Perfector under my eyes. They certainly needed a pick me up, I have the darkest shadows at the moment. This certainly did the trick, I started to look awake. Charlotte decided on Rosewood eyeshadow Quad, taking the light colour and blending in the darker shade through my crease area. Next up was my eyebrows, Light Brown Eyebrow Pencil was selected, tiny hair like flicks was drawn on the create a natural look. This tip I have taken with me, I am trying to recreate this look each morning. Charlotte wanted to define my eyes more, but whilst keeping a natural day time look. Charlotte took a Grey Eyeliner Pencil and smudged it along my lash line, slightly creating a cat flick at the outer edges. I have never tried to use Grey, with my fair skin and blond hair this worked so well. I will be using this technique again. To finish the look it was lips time, one of my favourite make up items!! I chose Rouge Eclat #02 Sweet Rose. I fell in love with this lipstick and actually ended up buying it! Charlotte smudged a little Bay Rose Lipliner along the edges before applying the lipstick.

I loved the finished look, I am so sorry but silly old me forgot to take a picture. Although it was a natural look with all natural shades used I could see definition to area's I had not realised I had. It is amazing to be shown how to apply products from the professionals.

What I found so useful was that Charlotte took the time to write down every skin care and make up items she used and all their costs.

I decided buy the lipstick and a skin care item. Clarins have a brilliant offer on at the moment in Boots. Buy 2 items one to be skin care and receive £10 back onto your advantage card in points, a beach bag and 3 trial sized products. How could I not take up this offer.

Rouge Eclat #02 Sweet Rose £18.00

Another Rose bud effect colour to my collection, although I have similar colours to this I don't have anything like the finish. That's how I justified it anyway. I think this shade is like Tom Ford Pink Dusk. I have worn this once since purchasing and the staying power is fab.

One Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser £20.00 125ml

My skin care item is my beloved One Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser. I love this product, I have used it for years and always enjoy it. I actually had used the last of my previous tube up a while ago, I am super happy to be reunited with more.
