Bits to try

I love trying new brands and products, well I must do as I blog about them most days! Here we have a mixed bag, soap, cleanser and a cream or two. I have tried the Savon L'Origan soap* before just in a different scent, the previous one smelt just like parma violets. Not my first choice in a soap to be quite frank, this version smells fresh and much better. I cannot wait to try this one out. The two brands below the soap really excite me. WEI is a luxury brand stocked in the likes of Space N K and its scented with roses, I have tried a coupler of samples before from WEI and enjoyed them, this time I have a WEI cleanser* and its a good size of 10ml so should last a few days, I will report back to you in an empties post soon.  Dr Bragi Age Management Moisturiser* is an extremely expensive brand, the full sized product is around the £120 mark, I will be using this sample sparingly, and savouring each use! And lastly another diddy tube of Yu-Be cream*, I have tried this before and wasn't overly impressed. If you have tried this before how did you use it? I want to give it another try, maybe it was me and I was not using it in the best way?

I feel a sample post coming up soon, its about time I had a sample grab and tried out some new products. I literally have draws full of samples and trial sizes. I love it when you get a sample or two when purchasing products, its makes it all the more exciting for me, the little added extras.

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist

I have recently run out of my beloved Origins A Perfect World Toner and well, I really fancied a change. I stumbled across a website that sold Jurlique and it had a round 20% off! This was the perfect opportunity to pick up a new toner. Of course the words Rosewater really sold it to me, I adore Rose scents in any products. As soon as I read the words Rose and I am sold, sad but so true. More onto Jurlique as a brand if you are new to it, its a natural brand that only use nice (not nasty) ingredients. The mist is marketed for combination skin to help re balance, that is exactly what I need.

I don't really like spray toners to be honest, I find myself spraying the product onto a cotton pad and applying to my skin as you would normally. I do find I go through the product keeper then usual when the packaging has a spray. Right enough about the spray, I love the beautiful glass bottle, it looks minimal but sleek, I like that understated look. Now onto the contents, the scent is simply beautiful. The aroma is so relaxing and feels great on my skin, as soon as I apply my skin feels soothed, hydrated and comfortable. I have experienced nothing but good things since using this, there has been no breakouts or soreness at all. This is great news, I have thoroughly enjoyed this product. I have since brought another bottle of Origins A Perfect World Toner and have decided to use this as a hydrating facial mist instead. I have spritzed this over my make up to refresh throughout the day and it works well. I own a few different facial mists, including the well known Caudalie Beauty Elixir and I much prefer this offering, its all down to the Roses!

So this is the second Jurlique product I have tried now, first was the Rose balm and today's product, I absolutely love them both. I have been really impressed with Jurlique and hope to try out some more products from them in the future. What is your must have product from Jurlique?

Mac Retro Matte Collection

As promised here are my picks from the new Mac Retro Matte Lipstick Collection. This collection hit my local Debenhams store last Thursday, I was there waiting for the store to open. There was also other ladies waiting and the funny thing was we all made a bee line for the Retro line!! I swatched them all in a matter of seconds and decided to go with a safe option and a daring one, well daring for me anyway! I had a lovely surprise when I paid, I was informed I had £10.00 on my points card, I had no idea that was there and Debenhams had a 10% off day, so these 2 lippies ended up costing me £17.00!! Happy days.

Dangerous
This is the daring choice, I really don't know what came over me!  I am usually such a plain Jane, but there was something about this shade I quite liked. I just love the tone of the red, it has a warm under tone and I tend to be drawn to that colour family more so than cool tones.

It is my first experience with a Matte finish in a lipstick as well, then application felt quite funny the first time I applied it to my lips. I have tried this applied lightly, even rubbed into my lips, that looks really nice. I have also worn this as you would a normal lipstick, my hubbies eyes nearly popped out, he wondered what had come over me!! But do you know what?? I really liked it, I could not stop looking in the mirror. This lipstick is super pigmented as well, it literally lasted hours.

Runway Hit
This is a total Jen colour, as soon as I laid my eyes on this I knew it would be coming home with me, its simply beautiful. A perfect nude pink, it looks amazing on my lips, and feels good too. I would say this feels drier on my lips than Dangerous if I had to compare them. I have heard this shade is a limited edition and has sold out in some Mac stores, I think I will end up kicking myself for not getting a back up of this one.

The picture looks quite dark here, I don't think it transpires like that on my lips, its more a nude shade. I would say it is a shade that would work well with a variety of make up looks as well.

Did you pick any of the Retro Matte lippies up? I did see a nice purple shade that would look amazing on a brunette. I would love to hear your thoughts on this new collection. Thanks for reading, hope to see you soon.

Mac Haul

I have had my eye on this brush for months, most of the lovely you tube girls I watch use this in their beauty routines. Its quite different to other brushes and really intrigued me. Another MSF to my collection, this is a beautiful one as well, let me tell you more............

Mac #227 Brush
I have admired this brush for so long, its like no other I have seen before, every You Tuber in the land seems to use this in their Make Up Tutorials. I just had to try it for myself, its great for applying a base colour to my eye lids, highlighter on my brow bone and cheeks. The brush is very large, its about the size of my eye lid in fact, I love having this brush in my collection, it has a place in my make up routine now and I don't know how I would cope without it.

Mac MSF #Lightscapade
This used to be a Limited Edition MSF, but has been made permanent. It can only be purchased online at Mac directly. I had heard lots about this wonderful highlight, the shades are rather different to most MSF with the occasional streak of blue veining running through the product. The pigmentation is very gentle, in fact this is the least glittery/shimmery of all my MSF collection, which makes it perfect for day time use. I am so happy I clicked the 'Add to basket' button.

I love the effect this MSF provides, its so pretty and gentle. Just look at the sheen, its so beautiful and I would go as far to say its a MUST HAVE product, I honestly reach for this most days.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this little haul of mine, I have picked up a couple of the new Matte Retro Lipsticks. I will try to get that post up soon for you to see, hopefully before all the lipsticks sell out. I brought one that's a Jen colour and one that's completely out of my comfort zone, so I need your advice whether to rock it or not..........

A little trip to Space NK.........................

Don't you just love Space NK little black bags, you always know there is going to be some lovely goodies inside. I had nothing in mind on this occasion, I had fantastic service at the Harvey Nichol's concession in Birmingham Mall Box.  There are some truly fabulous girls at that store.

I was initially looking at a few Nars eyeliners, I had literally every shade on my hand when the lovely sales assistant came over to help. She immediately took me over to the new Laura Mercier collection........ and showed me there new eyeliners. I applied a line to my hand and waited a few seconds. She took a tissue and wiped over all the swatches, would you believe all the Nars ones smudged off my hand and the Laura Mercier one did not budge!!!! And that one had been on my hand for the least amount of time, I was seriously impressed. The sweet girl asked if I would like her to apply it to my eyes, well that was all it took for me to want one.

Nail Lacquer #Bewitched

Where do I begin........... I first spotted this Limited Edition Nail Lacquer on Instagram I think? I actually took a screen shoot on my phone as I was completely mesmerised by the beauty of the shade, then I completely forgot about it. I don't have a Laura Mercier counter near me so out of sight out of mind. Once I walked over to look at the eyeliners I noticed this on display and thought Oh I remember this one, I grabbed it quite, applied a teeny tiny coat to my nail, OH MY this is absolutely stunning. It had to be mine, and its also my first Laura Mercier polish. An added benefit to this polish is that it contains no Formaldehyde, Toluene or Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP).

Just look at the breath taking beauty to this polish, and I can assure you this certainly transpires to your nail. It is a smooth polish, not chunky pieces of glitter to be seen here. The shimmer shines gold, khaki and looks like a wonderful dark mysterious shade.  I could sit here and stare at it for an eternity.

Longwear Eye Pencil #Expresso

I love the tone to this liner, I own a Chanel one that pulls quite red and if I am honest I have never really loved it. I LOVE this offering, it works super with my colourings. Now onto the formula, this is second to none. It applies with ease, there is no dryness or pulling on my eyelid. I like to take a liner brush and slightly smudge it across, it looks less harsh on my like that. The lasting power is like no other I have ever tried, it honestly comes off when you take it off. I like to use my Bioderma to do so, I did need to hold my cotton pad onto my eye a little longer than I normally did.

The girls are so sweet at Space NK and always pop a few bits in my bag to try out at home, today I got a few REN items and a new BB cream, from a brand I had never heard of have you? I cannot wait to try them out, keep your eyes peeled for my sample posts and then the empties.

Have you paid a visit to Space NK recently? I just LOVE a good look around there stores, if you want quality, complete high end luxury Space NK is where you need to be.

Mac Haul

I am peeping through my fingers guys, yes its another Mac haul, and I have to admit there are more in my drafts as well. I really have been enjoying a good look around my local Mac counter, the swooning and and ohhh and aww ing that occurs is quite something I can tell you.

Firstly another palette, this one is to home my depotted blushers, I have not purchased the inserts yet, I say yet as I cannot decide if I will?? Thoughts?? I know for sure I wont for my eye shadow palette.

Next up is three more eye shadow pans, I chose Expensive Pink, Mythology and All That Glitters. I am really happy with these new editions. I hoping to blog about the eye looks I wear, using my Mac shadows. I mix some you probably would not consider and I think they look nice together.

Here's a quick peep at my depotted Mac blushers, yes I have more potted. If you are interested in a collection post please ask, I would be happy to do so. I honestly think Mac have some super blushers, not only the shades but also in the various finishes.

I like how my eye shadow palette is coming along, its like a little rainbow. I would love to add a smokey purple shade soon. Do you have any must have recommendations?

Thanks for reading, same place, same time tomorrow :)

Loreal Infaillible

My first experience with this type of eyeshadow was in fact from Armani 'Eyes to kill'. I fell head over heels with that product, it seemed so did many other bloggers across the world. Then came some rather exciting information, someone had discovered a good dupe for the highly expensive Armani offerings. This was a tall claim and one I wanted to see for myself, WOW. Whoever designed these at Loreal deserves a medal, because they did good. I know because I have both and if they were in the same packing, no labels and all, it would near on impossible to tell. Do to this I have been adding to my Loreal Infallible collection and today I have 3 more to show you. I purchased these 3 from Fragrance Direct for £1.99.

#032 Sunny Marshmellow
After receiving my amazing swap goodies from Megan I have been totally into different eye shadow shades. This is quite similar to my Sephora one, I love the way this applies to my eyes, the softness of colour is super pretty.

#036 Naughty Strawberry
I made a boo boo with this order to be honest. I thought this was the shade I have heard so much about on You Tube. I forget the name now, but its a icy white, pastel pink. So you can imagine the shock when I opened this. I would never wear this on my eyes, I am considering trying this as a blusher??? What do you think?

#020 Pebble Grey
This is the only none shimmery Infallible I own. In fact I had no idea they made them, this is great and I am glad I hit the click button to purchase this. It is a super creamy eyeshadow that looks great for day time work wear. I like to prime my eye lids with my painterly paint pot first, I leave that to dry for a few moments and then apply this with my finger, I like to blend a transition colour into my crease and I am good to go.

If any of you know where I can purchase the icy pink shade I am looking for please let me know, I have seen it used lots as a highlight and its super pretty. What is your favourite infallible? I also own Amber Rush, that shade is incredible.
